Band Bio:

Anastasia Gilliam and Zay Harrison joined forces in 2011 in Portland, OR. This multifaceted group is very versatile with a vast repertoire of original songs and cover tunes ranging from R&B, Pop, Rock and Blues.
Building on that infrastructure in 2015, Fern Young joined the group on keyboards.
She brings a luscious  depth to the music and her soulful vocal harmonies brings symmetry to the powerhouse foundation that is the very cornerstone of Butterfly Breakdown's sound and takes that to a whole new level.

Fern Young
Singer, Songwriter, Vocalist, Keyboardist/Pianist, Music Production, Artist

Born and raised on the island of Maui, HI., singing and music have always been Fern's first love. Growing up in a home filled with music she was heavily influenced by a wide variety of her parent's eclectic tastes.
This natural born songstress has always had the ability and courage to sing without inhibition - anytime, anywhere with a knack for attracting listeners through her voice, unique personality and presence.
By the age of 8 she began playing piano and determined to develop her own musical ear she refused to sight read.
This determination combined with a highly developed sense of self and perception for chords and harmonies continues to blossom along with her vocal skills and repertoire of original compositions.

In 2011, at age 17, she attended McNally Smith College of Music studying for a BA in Music Production. She has trained with and been mentored by a handful of incredible vocalists, vocal coaches and songwriters, including: Claytoven Richardson, Shane Adams, Rich Parkinson, Joy Fields and Anastasia Gilliam.

She recently moved to Portland, OR where she reconnected with Anastasia.
After an informal jam session with Zay and Anastasia, the three knew they were on to something extraordinary. They are currently writing new material and working on a new full length album.
